Sunset West Sedona Weathered Natural Materials/Wooden Outdoor Accent Chair

Sedona is a celebration of contemporary scale, with oversized deep seating that invites hours of leisure. Offering a full suite of dining, lounge, occasional, and deep seating silhouettes, the Sedona collection effortlessly blends rustic elegance with modern sophistication in any outdoor environment.

Sunset West uses true natural teak wood in their Coastal Teak collection, that is then finished for a grey weathered look. To clean, wash with a mild soap and warm water solution using a soft cloth. DO NOT use harsh cleaners or abrasives as they will damage the finish. Our multi-step finish is applied to the rustic planks and then sealed with Golden Care® ‘Teak-Shield’. We recommend continuing to apply ‘Teak-Shield’ (sold separately) to aid the longevity of the finish. Touch-up kits are available through Sunset West to maintain your Coastal Teak finish as needed. When left exposed to the elements, the water-based finish will eventually wear away and uncover the natural teak underneath. The teak will then start its own natural weathering process, and slowly acquire the silver-gray patina that is the characteristic of untreated teak when exposed outdoors. Please note that during the weathering process, the appearance of the furniture may be uneven, but will eventually develop a beautiful, uniform, silvery-gray patina. Cover your outdoor teak furniture with outdoor covers (sold separately) when left outside during inclement weather, and/or store when not in use. When storing teak, avoid moving your pieces to and from extreme temperature conditions - sharp differences in temperature and humidity may cause the wood to split.

Due to the nature of teak, each piece will have it's own unique look

Teak is unlike any other wood species -its survival outdoors is far superior to others such as mahogany and redwood. It is especially recognized for its high natural oil content which prevents the wood from drying out and therefore not split or crack, making it the premier choice for outdoor furniture, marine & yacht industry. Caring for your Teak is an individual decision, ranging from periodical cleaning using teak cleaner mixed with warm water. First rinse with water, then scrub the cleaner on following the wood grain pattern using a scrub-pad, then rinse thoroughly with water and let it air dry. If you wish to preserve the golden color of the natural teak, you may treat the furniture with a teak sealer such as Golden Care. Weathering cracks are small openings primarily found in the ‘end-grain’ of the wood can occur during the aging process and is to be expected and is not covered by warranty. Natural yellow unfinished teak will weather to a silver-gray patina over time which only becomes more beautiful with age! Finished Teak furniture follow the same care directions except replacing scrub pad with a cloth/rag. The applied factory finish will eventually begin to fade and wear off with age. Especially if out in a fully outdoors environment. The furniture will transition to a natural weathered rustic finish with age. Covering teak furniture is not recommended as this promotes mildew and surface mold because solid wood is still a breathing live media that reacts to the elements it is living in! We recommend Golden Care® teak cleaner & teak shield for cleaning & preserving. Avoid any type of teak oils as they attract dirt & pollution particles.
